PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS - JURY MEMBERS

Darko Karlečik

Darko Karlečik graduated in percussion from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where he studied in the class of Prof. Nebojša Jovan Živković and Prof. Dr. Srđan Palačković. He completed his master’s studies at MUK – Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien in Vienna, in the class of Prof. Nebojša Jovan Živković. His performing career includes collaborations with the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera, the “Max Steiner” Orchestra in Vienna, the Serbian National Theatre, the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic, the Zagreb Philharmonic, the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek, and many others. Karlečik is a permanent member of the 2K+ Ensemble, specializing in contemporary music. He also regularly performs with the percussion ensemble SUDAR (Croatia). He is currently employed as an independent professional associate in the Percussion Department at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and as a percussion professor at the “Isidor Bajić” Music School in Novi Sad.

Ivan Burka

Ivan Burka (1979) completed his undergraduate studies in viola at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in the class of Professor Dušica Polovina (2004). At the same faculty, he also completed undergraduate studies in percussion in the class of Professors Nebojša Jovan Živković and Srđan Palačković (2010). He completed his doctoral academic studies in percussion in 2023 at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade under the mentorship of Dr. Srđan Palačković. He was a member of the Orchestra of the Opera of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad from 2004 to 2023, first as a freelance percussion collaborator (2004–2007), and subsequently as a full-time solo timpanist. Since 2023, he has been employed as an Assistant Professor (Percussion) at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. In addition, he is a permanent collaborator of the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra (serving as solo timpanist since 2007) and has been engaged as a part-time teacher at the Music School “Isidor Bajić” in Novi Sad since 2008, teaching percussion, chamber music, and sight-reading.

Lajos Takó

Lajos Takó obtained his diploma as a percussion music teacher in 1982 at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, and in 2015 he received a Master Teacher’s degree from the Faculty of Music of the University of Szeged. He began his professional career in Csongrád, and later taught at the László Lajta Music School in Szentes. In 1993, he was appointed to a permanent teaching position at the Basic Art School in Kiskunfélegyháza, where he founded the percussion department. He has worked at this institution ever since, and since September he has been teaching as a retiree. In parallel, for many years he has also worked as a permanently appointed music teacher at the Basic Art School in Mórahalom and at the Basic Art School in Kistelek. Throughout his years of teaching, he has successfully prepared numerous students for careers in music. Today, they are recognized professionals and performing artists at both national and international levels. He has performed in many ensembles and orchestras across various musical genres.
